Kaski District, located in Nepal, is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, encompassing the majestic Annapurna Range and the serene Phewa Lake. It serves as a gateway to the popular trekking destination, the Annapurna Circuit, attracting adventure enthusiasts from around the world.

 

The region encompasses a portion of the Annapurna mountain range, and the breathtaking scenery of the mountains can be seen from almost anywhere in the area. It is one of Nepal’s most popular tourist spots. Rivers such as the SetiGandaki, Modi, and Madi, as well as minor rivulets, run through the area.Pokhara, the district seat, is located about 750 metres above sea level and is one of the top tourist attractions in the world. The district is well-known for its Himalayan range, which has 11 peaks higher than 7000 metres. Machhapuchhre (Virgin Peak – 6993m) is one of the most famous peaks. The district has a diversified population with a wide range of languages, faiths, and customs. Different cultures have distinctive cuisines, clothing styles, and practises that are influenced by caste and religion. Many locations in the area provide Home Stay accommodations for both domestic and international tourists, allowing them to see native dances associated with various castes and cultures. According to the 2068 census, the Kaski district has 84 castes, 44 languages, and 11 faiths. The locals dress in national clothes, and major cuisines in the area include Dal-Bhat Tarkari, Roti, and Dhindo (traditional Nepalese dishes). The district is a melting pot for several castes, including Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri, Newar, Thakali, and Kumal.
